"Twinsburg represents community baseball at its best. Their teams are consistently strong fundamentally and more importantly they play the game the right way; with respect."
Former Cleveland Indians & Current Toronto Blue Jays President Mark Shapiro
GOOD LUCK 12U TIGERS IN COOPERSTOWN!!!
As part of a long standing TBL tradition, each year, our 12U travel baseball team goes to Cooperstown, NY to participate in a 104 team tournament from teams from all over America. JALEN WASHINGTON DRAFTED BY THE SAN DIEGO PADRES!
Former TBL player and Twinsburg High School graduate Jalen Washington will look to continue his baseball career as a professional after being selected by the San Diego Padres in the Major League Baseball draft. A two-time team co-captain at Ohio State University, Washington was taken in the 29th round with the 858th overall pick. Jalen was coming off an impressive senior season with the Buckeyes that saw him transition from catcher to shortstop, while leading the team in home runs, RBI's, and stolen bases. Best of luck to Jalen as his career continues!

Chicago Cubs A ball team the Myrtle Beach Pelicans have won 20 of their last 25 games and recently secured a first half title in the Carolina League. One of the key cogs to that run - pitcher Scott Effross, Twinsburg High School graduate and former TBL player.
Effross was drafted in the 15th round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Cubs out of the University of Indiana, and has 3 wins, 4 saves, and 30 K's in 35 IP for the red-hot Pelicans. Making Twinsburg proud! Congrats Scott!!
TIGER TRAVEL BASEBALL OFF TO ANOTHER GREAT START
Twinsburg's travel baseball program has enjoyed the best of both worlds for many years. Our teams are true community programs, comprised of all Twinsburg kids, classmates, and friends. Yet they've consistently competed at the highest levels against the top club travel teams in the area, who pull kids from large geographical regions. The start to the 2017 season has been no exception - and maybe the best start ever for the travel program.
Our 11U and 12U Tigers have already posted three tournament wins each. The 11U Tigers have gone a perfect 3-3, winning the North Ridgeville Shootout, the Brawl by the Bay in Sandusky, and the Buckeye Classic. The 12U Tigers posted wins at the Hudson Spring Classic, Nordonia Baseball Bash, and over a loaded field at the Nations Summer Showdown in Cincinnati. Our 8U Tigers won the first tournament they ever entered at the Hudson Spring Classic. The 10U Tigers also won out in Hudson and bested a big time field out at the new Sports Force Park turf field complex in Sandusky. And the 9U Tigers already have two tournament championship game appearances on the young season. Go Tigers!

FILL A BAG, FEED A FAMILY!
Please help us stop the food shortage in the greater Twinsburg area! The week of July 9-15 is "Fill a Bag, Feed a Family Week" in Twinsburg, Twinsburg Township, and Reminderville. And we're looking for volunteers! It's easy to participate. On July 9th at 1:30 PM, join hundreds of volunteers as they drop empty food bags off at local homes. And then on the morning of July 15th join the fun as 260 people either pick-up the food from local homes OR they help inspect and sort the food at the local food storage area. This program can only work when people like you donate just 2 hours on either the bag delivery day or food pick-up day. For more details or to volunteer, CLICK HERE or take a look at the flyer posted below.
UMPIRE REGISTRATION STILL OPEN
We're still looking for umpires for the coming season. Candidates may be kids age 12 or older or adults. It's a good opportunity to make some money while being outside on a baseball field! Registration for those interested can be found here.
TBL PARTNERS WITH THE POSITIVE COACHING ALLIANCE
In February of 2015, the TBL Board voted to partner with the Positive Coaching Alliance, a quickly growing national organization that works with youth and high school sports leaders, coaches, athletes and parents to help promote a positive, character building youth sports experience.
PCA offers a number of tools for all of the aforementioned groups.
The numbers of kids in America playing baseball from ages 6-12 is at healthy levels, but there has been a sharp drop off in the number of kids that continue playing after that point.
PCA is committed to helping coaches and youth sports organizations to create the positive type of atmosphere that leads to kids wanting to continue to play sports through their high school years.

5. This is not professional baseball
We are always looking for new TBL board members. TBL is an all volunteer, non city affiliated entity that manages the many different aspects that go along with providing a positive youth baseball experience for well over 1,000 children each year. Our board is a great group of people that meets roughly once a month, and we'd love to add a few new good people to the board this winter. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or potential interest.
TBL mandates that our volunteer head coaches take an online training course to become registered members of the National Youth Sports Coaching Association and also that they take an online concussion awareness training course. Both courses are also highly recommended for our assistant coaches and any other parents that help out with their children's teams.
